Estrella Azul de Carbono, Pequeño Suspiro
Carbon Blue Star, Little Sigh
“The cosmos is within us. We are made of star-stuff. We are a way for the universe to know itself.” Carl Sagan
Carbon Blue Star, Little Sigh is a reflection on our elemental construct, an echo through time, dream time and perhaps a glance into a hidden land. As we are stardust, from trees come picture books.

In August 2024 I was invited to install a solo show by Kaplan Projects in Palma, Mallorca @kaplanprojects
The exhibition coincided with Nit de L'Art @artpalmacontemporani
Thorp takes us on a journey through the gallery, starting with a miniature theatre playing scenes from the Carbon Blue Star installation, a glimpse of the work that is to come. The exhibition includes large giclee photographs, gesso panels, exquisite framed film works, an original score by Thorp and a large scale immersive installation.
Weaving through the images - a forest, ancient books, a neon star, a document of life on a Spanish island, a girl dreaming - a voice calling us to find our ‘little selves’ in an unfathomable universe.
One upon a time, stardust,
a tinderbox of fables
reaching through the quite air,
long, long ago
humble, celestial, sigh,
carbon blue star
little sigh
